When I launched The BL Agency last year I had the idea to help attorneys advertise their services on social media, instead of costly billboards and TV & radio ads.
I got so many “that’s a great idea”‘s and had numerous people interested! But when it came time to make a purchase or even simply book a strategy session *crickets*.
Turns out, while it was a good idea, that’s not what my audience really wanted. I finally got tired of smacking my head up against the wall & finally decided to pivot!
I have over a decade of experience as a content creator in various forms of media including: television, radio, Youtube, voice acting, podcasting & blogging. That’s EXACTLY where my audience saw my expertise and wanted my help!
So, ladies & gents, The BL Agency is a Social Media Marketing agency that helps entrepreneurs of all kinds create compelling, scroll stopping content that turns targeted leads into premium, long lasting customers.

Let’s talk about business cards. How important are those little rectangular pieces of card stock in this digital age?
The importance of a business card to a business varies from industry to industry and business to business. One of the pros of having business cards include having all of your company’s contact information in one convenient place. If you keep them on your person, should the opportunity arise where you can talk business, you’re prepared and can leave a professional first impression.
On the other hand, how many times have you gone to events or met up with someone, taken their business cards and did nothing with it? I know I personally used to got to networking events and collect business cards. lol! I wasn’t intentionally hoarding them, I made up in my mind I would keep the cards in the event I wanted to support their business one day -but for the majority, that day has yet to come.
If you do business in person, my suggestion is that you need a business card. You can’t control what someone does with it after you give it to them but it will be a great representation of you when you’re no longer in their presence.
Another, newer version of business cards are digital business cards. These are currently my fave because they are easy to access because they’re in your phone, you can share them with people regardless of their phone or if they have the app, they are easy to edit and best of all they are FREE!!!
My current favorite is an app called HiHello. It’s a free app available in the App Store & on Google Play, it’s super easy to set up and get started, and if you get stuck they have tips to assist you! Another digital business card provider I like is Linq, which pairs with smart products making it even easier to share your information!
While physical business cards may not be right for your business, peruse on over your app store for other digital business card providers, and see if one is right for you!
I’m new to Clubhouse (yes, I’m a lil late or whatever! But I’m here now! lol!) and this past Friday I tuned in to The Social Media Show. Most Friday’s they do “Talk With Jude” feauturing Judy Jernudd, a speaker and leadership coach.
This particular episode I’m so happy I caught because they were discussing: The Top 5 Proven Principles You Need To “Move Your Needle” in 2022.
Whether your business is flourishing or if you need a little help chugging along I think these 5 Principles are beneficial to every business owner. It helped me so I want to share my take aways in hopes that it helps you too!
Clarify
Get super clear on what it is that you do. Of course you should be clear on your “I help ____ do ____.” statement, but even better to have a clear business plan that breaks down how you do what you do. Actually sit down and take the time to come up with who you serve, how you serve them, get concrete on your offer(s), and execute that plan.
Delegation
As an entrepreneur we try to do it all ourselves. Some times it’s because we don’t have the resources, but often time it’s a fear of releasing control. You fear the help you bring on won’t be able to do the tasks you assign as good as you. However, it’s better to have it done, even if it’s at 80%, and you focus on something else in the business, than you doing everything and getting burned out. (check out last week’s blog!)
Accountability
Once you are clear on your business and delegate less important tasks to trustworthy help, you need to hold yourself accountable for the tasks you are responsible for. As entrepreneurs it’s so easy put something off because you set your own hours and work when you want, but make sure you’re taking care of what’s important and not being distracted by things that don’t matter and won’t help you in the long run.
Commitment
On the show they discussed the difference between a goal and a promise & I’m going to dive deeper into that next week. Regardless of what you call it, in order to achieve a goal, stick to a promise, accomplish a dream, you have to commit to focusing on what is beneficial to getting you there. Commit to bettering yourself personally and that will spill over into your business and vice versa.
Processes
It is super important that you have systems and processes in place to assist you in duplicating the results you give to others, helping you delegate with ease and allowing you to help more people in less time. For example, if you keep track of the steps you take to get your customers results, you can follow that same formula to get the next client results, and the next and the next! The same goes for an assistant and when you are ready to scale your business.
Those 5 tips gave me so much insight and have me already tweaking things in my business to help prepare me for a prosperous 2022!
